Who we are?

Greetings in the joy of Jesus Christ.

Our church, the Mercy Seat Temple of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, that means it is a newly planted church. Our launch date was 25 February 2024

It was the vision of Presiding elder, Reverend Lefa Levi Mokoena (JS Chalale District, formerly Heilbron District), to plant a new mission in the Iraq, Mooidraai, France and Amelia Area of the Zamdela township in Sasolburg, Free State in South Africa.

The Presiding Elder shared his vision with Bishop Ronnie Elijah Brailsford of the 19th Episcopal district (2020-2023), they agreed between them to give the project a try.

Presiding Elder Mokoena then Recruited Reverend Alpheus Lebogang Seloane, deacon (Nongoma Circuit 2020-2023) to go into the area and test if God would fulfil the Presiding Elder's vision. The God of Jesus Christ has made it possible for hope to prevail.

We launched on 25 February 2024, reported membership of 33 in the 2024-25 Orangia Annual Conference Seating under the leadership of Bishop Wilfred J Messiah, Snr Bishop (2024-), were given permission to occupy stand number 19968 Amelia, Sasolburg by the Metsimaholo Local Municipality and the Ward Councillor, Brother Lunga "Maleven" Mthetho. God's hand keeps showing up, His grace has kept us to this present day.

We are currently worshipping on-site at 19968 Amelia, Sasolburg, in a temporary structure (A shack). We have alot of work ahead of us. God who has carried us up to this point, is faithful.

We invite anyone who would assist us by way of sponsorship/s and/or donation/s to get in touch with us at donations@mercyseattemple.com. May God bless you all.

Believes

The church believes in the Holy Trinity

Jesus is the Son of God born to redeem man of sin

The Holy Ghost is one substance with the Father and the Son

The Scriptures are sufficient for salvation

Baptism and Holy Communion are the two sacraments we observe

Man has freewill

Our creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit

and born of the virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and was buried;

The third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended to heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the Church Universal,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting.

Amen
